Cunmo Yin was born in China in 1993. He got his first piano lesson at the age of nine, and gave his first public concert already a few months later. Currently, Cunmo Yin is studying under Professor Gerrit Zitterbart at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover (Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media).


At the age of 14, Cunmo Yin already recorded a CD of all the transcendental etudes by Franz Liszt, 2009 he won second prize as the youngest participant at the Shanghai International Piano Competition. He gave numerous recitals throughout China (e.g. in Shanghai, Peking, Nanjing, Sichuan, and in many more cities). There he performed at the most famous concert halls, including the National Centre for Performing Arts in Peking, the Great Hall of the People in Nanjing, the Shanghai Music Hall, the Oriental Art Centre in Shanghai), as well as in the USA and Germany. He performed as a soloist with many orchestras like the Beijing (Peking) Symphony Orchestra, the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, the Shanghai Opera-Philharmonic Orchestra, the Xiamen Philharmonic Orchestra, the Longwood Symphony Orchestra in America, and, recently, with the orchestra of the Technical University of Braunschweig in Germany.


Recently he won the second prize and the prize Freunde Junger Musiker Deutschland at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Conservatory Competition. The first prize and the Public Special Prize he won at the 20th Edition of the international piano competition `Alexander Scriabin´.
